Brick

Four hands build it. Two verdicts rate it.

We are a dad and his son with a collection of brick-built sets spread across the walls of our home: retired, sealed and brand new. We build every set together, rate it separately and show you both scores. We don't always agree.

How it works

Every set goes through the same three steps, from the first bag to the shelf.

  1. Step 1

    We build it together

Four hands on one set. You'll always know whose are whose: Dad's are the tattooed ones.

  2. Step 2

    We rate it apart

Nine categories, scored separately, before we say a word to each other.

  3. Step 3

    We show both verdicts

Two scores and one sentence each. Then you tell us who got it right.

The series

Photos, carousels and quiet videos. No talking to the camera, just hands, bricks and the story of each set.

  • Two Verdicts

Our core format. One set, two scorecards and one question: who's right?

  • Sealed Since ____

A retired set that stayed sealed for years. The box, the seals, the story, then the opening and the build.

  • Box vs Built

Our own box next to the finished model, same angle, same light. Does it look like the box?

  • The Wings

Different sets from one world on one shelf. Every model appears once.

  • Exhibit No. ___

One set where it actually stands in our home, with its full story: release year, price then and value now.

Also on the shelf: Dad's Pick vs Son's Pick, and 3 Months Later, when we score a set again after it has lived with us for a while.

The scorecard

Nine categories, scored 1 to 10 unless noted. A category that doesn't fit a set, like minifigures in an architecture set, gets a dash and counts for nothing.
